Cinema in Wartime
An apt film title
The cinema was a good way to forget about the raids, but you took a risk in choosing to go there.
I remember my aunty took me to see a film and coming back the air-raid warning went and the air-raid warden came out and shouted at my aunty and I to get into the shelters. I even know what film I saw - it was called 'Dangerous Moonlight'!. It was entertainment but you couldn't just go out and think 'Oh well'. I mean, we weren't in London but we still had a lot of raids. (Jean Kitchener née Fitches)
